Southern Cross School Library provides a central and indispensable facility within the school community which is dedicated to the advancement of learning, the promotion of information skills vital for academic success and the creation of an environment that stimulates quality teaching and learning practices through independent, collaborative and technologically innovative opportunities.
As a highly accomplished educator, the Primary Teacher Librarian has a passion for literature, extensive knowledge of information resources and an ongoing familiarisation of new and emerging digital technologies. The Teacher Librarian is responsible for leading information retrieval (whilst integrating a strong focus on digital resources and environments), designing library environments that respond directly to pedagogical and technological changes, leading the ideals of responsible and ethical use of resources and ensuring that the library is an efficient hub for professional development and collaborative learning.
We would like to pay our respects and acknowledge to the the Bundjalung people, the traditional custodians of the land on which we learn and work together and commit to building relationships, respect and opportunities for all Aboriginal people in our community. We pay respect to Elders both past and present.
