Additional learning support

At our school, we ensure every student is ready to learn. We support students with disability and additional learning needs so they can take part in all areas of school life. You do not need a formal diagnosis for your child to receive support in a mainstream class. Support can begin at any stage of school.

Support that fits your child's needs

Some students need extra support to feel confident and do their best at school. We work closely with families to make support plans and adjustments  that suits each child’s needs.

Support Centre

Our Support Centre provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. Guided by the NSW Department of Education’s Inclusive Education Policy, our School Learning Support Officers work with classroom teachers and families to identify each student’s strengths and needs, develop personalised learning and support plans, and make appropriate adjustments to teaching and learning. We focus on ensuring all students can participate meaningfully in school life, access the curriculum, and build confidence and wellbeing. Collaboration between staff, families and external professionals helps ensure that every child feels valued, supported and ready to succeed.

Our Support Centre operates as a regional resource, providing specialised educational settings for students who require additional learning and support. Placement is determined through the Department of Education’s Access Request process, which is typically coordinated by the Learning and Support Team at the child’s local public school. Eligibility is based on the Department’s disability criteria and the availability of a suitable placement in a specialist support class.

Students enrolled in specialist classes within regular schools may also participate in selected mainstream classes, where appropriate. This flexible approach allows for meaningful inclusion based on available resources and the personalised learning and support needs of each student.
